The Canal, been born in Medicean epoch ( 1630-1650 ) as connection between Livorno - dawning port- and Pisa - commercial emporium. To the beginnings of the '900 and in the years among the I and the II world conflicts, the Navicelli live they great logistic age. They are used for the transport of heavy and voluminous materials. Destroied during the II world war, the Canal of Navicelli and the Pisan port has been reopened in the '50-60 years. From the reopening to today the logistics of transport is notably reduced in favor of the shipbuilding industry for great pleasure-boats ( tradition of the Pisan arsenals). The position of the Canal of Navicelli is in an area of remarkable logistic characterization: Roads and highway, railroad, agency of the Pisa customses, airport, Livorno's port. Manageresses of traffic north-south and by/for the Italia center.  |
